Currency
1 Kroon (ekr) = 100 sents. Notes are in denominations of ekr500, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2 and 1. Coins are in denominations of ekr1 and 5, and 50, 20, 10 and 5 sents.

Currency exchange
All major currencies can be exchanged at banks and bureaux de change. The value of the Kroon has been tied to the Euro. There are ATMs in most towns.

Credit & debit cards
Credit cards are widely accepted. Check with your credit or debit card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services which may be available.

Travellers cheques
Travellers cheques can be changed in banks in most larger towns. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travellers are advised to take travellers cheques in US Dollars, Pounds Sterling or Euros.

Currency restrictions
The import and export of local and foreign currency is limited to ekr80,000 or equivalent.
